History

The natives of the Moselle region took for practice to cut out the department of the the Moselle in three sectors; Metz and its periphery, north (the old iron and steel zone) and is including the Lorraine Coal basin, the districts of Sarreguemines and Sarrebourg.

Managers of undertakings decide to federate development actions in the sector of recruitment of the Collieries and the perimeter of intervention of the Funds of Intervention of the Coal basin (FIBH). It create with Forbach in 1988, association Actipromo . To encourage this project the Carboniferous of Lorraine and their partners organize in 1990 in a train of 6 coaches, a road show of 70 companies of the basin. In front of the immense success of this operation, the leaders of association benefit from the visit of the minister Jacques Chereque to inaugurate a Logo of Moselle-is

Within the framework of a mission of economic development, it is currently the Agency for the Expansion of Moselle-Is (AGEME) with Freyming-Merlebach which federates actions.

The project of a European metropolis Moselle-Is Saarbrucken (Eurodistrict) takes form. It is the work of Zukunft SaarMoselle Avenir, gathering Stadtverband Saarbrucken (community of agglomeration around Saarbrucken) and of the Communities of Communes of Faulquemont, of Forbach, Freyming-Merlebach, the country of Alba, the country naborien, Sarreguemines and Warndt
