Moose
Moose is a British group formed with London in 1990 by the singer Russell Yates and the guitarist Kevin McKillop. Initially characterized by the use of guitars saturated as at a great number of British groups of this period, inter alia Wrinkle, Slowdive, or the Boo Radleys, their music grew rich thereafter by more acoustic sonorities and more diversified arrangements.
Biography
Courted by various labels on the faith in its first Moose concerts will engage finally with Hut Records (The Auteurs, Drop Nineteens) in 1991.
The music of Moose at the time of their three first EP, produced by Guy Fixsen (more known to have produced My Bloody Valentine and The Breeders), can be attached to the current Shoegazer. This term would come besides from the practice taken by Russell Yates of scotcher the words of its songs to same the scene at the time of the concerts, which still accentuated a static and contained attitude.
The work of Mitch Easter, also producer of the American group R.E.M., and the contribution of string instruments, keyboards and various instruments wind on the album … XYZ enabled them to emphasize for the first time the influences of musicians of the Sixties like Arthur Lee, Fred Neil, of which they take again the Everybody' S Talkin' , or Tim Buckley.
Nevertheless Hut will separate soon from the group, the sales of the first album being considered to be insufficient.
Moose car-will produce individual the Liquid Make-up , containing one their pieces emblématiques, I wanted to see you (to see yew I wanted you) , before signing an new agreement with the label Play it again, Sam, who will allow them to publish the two following albums in 1994 and 1996. Received well by the press, the discs of Moose will not however obtain that a success of regard near the public. The group will have to even wait year 2000 before being able to leave a last album, produced by Brian O' Shaughnessy (Denim, The Clientele) and published by Nickel & Dimes in the United Kingdom and Saltwater Records in the United States.

Evolutions
Jeremy Tishler and Damien Warburton were replaced thereafter by Richard Thomas (battery) and Lincoln Fong (low), whose brother Russell (guitar) will also come to support the group.
Various contributions
Chris Acland, beater of the group Lush, sometimes replaced Damien Warburton at the time of concerts of Moose, before this one leaves the group. The guitarist of Stereolab, Tim Gane, appearing him also on the occasion. It took besides share with the recording of the EP Cool Breeze and Reprise again in 1991, whereas its comparse Laetitia Sadier contributed to the first session of Moose recorded the same year for the famous emission of the programmer radio operator John Peel. The singers Delores O' Riordan of the Cranberries, then Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins and Claire Lemmon of Sidi Bou Said, and finally Miki Berenyi of Lush will be also credited respectively on the albums … XYZ , Live has Little, Love has Batch and High Ball Me! .
Yates and McKillop played with Stereolab and See See Rider; Lincoln Fong for its part worked with Cocteau Twins since the Eighties as a musician and a sound engineer.
