Mongkon

For NAK Muay (boxers of Thai Muay), the head is the most significant part of the human body, the Mongkon is thus judicious to protect this part of the body.

Mongkon is composed of a first band fabric, container of the letters and symbols crowned, which rolled firmly, resembles a cord, related to its two extremitées by a wire of seam sometimes sanctified. Mongkon is then wrapped in a second fabric band which at summer handled beforehand by the professor of the ceremony. Both are finally joined together by wire woven to form a kind of tail which, once placed on the head of the boxer, extends behind him.

The boxer keeps Mongkon lasting Wai Kru RAM Muay. He withdraws then Mongkon for the combat.

Mongkon gave indications on the area and the style of the boxer. Today, that became very difficult, the number of schools and professors having increased considerably.
