Monday perjury

The Monday Lost or Monday Perjury (in Dutch verloren maandag or verzworen maandag ) is a traditional festival Flemish which is held Monday which follows the Épiphanie. It remains especially long-lived with Tournai and in the Province of Antwerp.

Its origin is unknown but its older mention is that of Gilles Li Muisis, a chronicler tournaisien, in 1281.

During the family meal, where one must eat rabbit, a king of table is appointed and all the guests must follow it. The menu is codified and traditional, small sausage in entry, Lapin in Tournaisienne, salad tournaisienne and Galette.
