Modularity

Of Data-processing, the modularity consists in the regrouping of functions, methods and treatment aiming initially making it possible to distribute the development of a gross application on several (groups of) people, so that each one can make independently of the others its test unit, but also, then, at allowing some Réutilisabilité certain treatment units - modules (and thus portions of code) to avoid redévelopper applications.
The modularity is a structuring approach which separates a Logiciel in small units which, gathered, will compose the unit of the software.
In software design, the modularity is opposed to the Raffinement.
The operation of the Web services is based on the principle of modularity.
