Mimei Ogawa
Mimei Ogawa (小川未明) 1882 - 1961 is a Japanese writer.
He is the author of famous fairy tales, and is sometimes compared with Andersen.
Biography
Mimei Ogawa was born in 1882 in Takada (prefecture of Niigata). He studies the English literature with the Université Waseda and is graduate in 1905. Its literary, romantic and humanistic sensitivity, then does not correspond to the current dominating at the time, the naturalism (in its Japanese meaning, different from Western).It is thereafter one of the first Japanese authors to write bound for the children, of the tales where it develops its vision of a cruel nature.
It obtains the Price Named in 1946.
