Migratory balance

In Demography, the migratory balance is the difference between the arrivals (or entries) and the departures (or exits) inhabitants of a given territory.

In other words migratory balance is equal to the difference between Immigration and emigration (from the point of view of the studied territory, independently of the nationality of the Migrants).

Migratory balance can thus be positive or negative.

Added to the Natural increase or natural balance , it makes it possible to calculate the total variation of a population.

An area with positive migratory balance is known as gravitational. On the other hand, an area with negative migratory balance is known as repulsive.
