The company Michelin is a French manufacturer of tires. It is a multinational whose head office is with Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne) in France. With 20% of the worldwide market, it is the world leader of the tire. Its net sales in 2005 rose to 15,6 billion Euro S. Implantée in 19 country, it employs 123 975 people, of which 31 000 in France.

One of the avenues of Clermont-Ferrand bears the name of Edouard Michelin. The stage of Rugby of the city bears as for him the name of Marcel Michelin, the founder of ASM and wire of André Michelin.
