Michael Leavitt

Michael Okerlund Leavitt (born in 1951) is an American politician, member of the Republican party, former governor of the Utah and current Secretary of State to health and the human services.

Born the February 11th 1951 in Cedar City in Utah, Michael Leavitt is graduate of economy.

In 1992, he is elected under the colors of the republicans, 14th governor of Utah, is re-elected in 1996 and 2000.

In 2003, he resigns of his station following his nomination by George W. Bush to take the direction of the agency of environmental protection

In December 2004, George W. Bush chooses it to succeed Tommy Thompson with the secretariat with health and the human services.

It takes up duty and is confirmed by the senate the January 26th 2005.

Michael Leavitt is married and father of 5 children.
