Michael Larrabee

Michael Denny " Mike" Larrabee , born the December 2nd 1933 and deceased the April 22nd 2003, was a American Athlète , victorious of two gold medals to the Olympic Games of summer of 1964 out of 400 m and in relays 4 X.400 m.

Born with Ventura in California, Larrabee was an young talent of the athletics in the mileu of the Années 1950. In 1952, its performances enabled him to enter to the the University of California of the South. It obtained there a diploma of Géologue. A series of wounds penalized its career of runner until it adopts a new drive when it approached about thirty. That helped it to produce its best season in 1964.

It gained its only title AAU over 400 m. Then it gained the American selections for the plays of Tokyo by equalizing the world records with 44" 9.
En final of the plays, Larrabee was in fifth place then exceeded all its competitors for gains the title in 45" 1. Larrabee also took part like second relay runner in the American victory out of relays 4 X.400 Mr.

After the plays of Tokyo, Larrabee worked as mathematics professor and held a sport store with his/her brother and was representative in the United States of the shoes Adidas.

Larrabee remained active good after its sporting career. After he learned how to be reached of a Cancer of the advanced pancreas which did not leave him any more that a few weeks with living, he continued to benefit from the life during two years. Mike Larrabee is deceased at his place with Santa Maria in California at the 69 years age.
