Metropolitan cathedral of Mexico City
The metropolitan cathedral of Mexico City is the largest cathedral of America. It was built in the style of Spanish Baroque architecture and includes/understands a pair of neo-classic turns of 64 m which carry eighteen bell S.
It is located on the central place of Mexico City, the Zócalo (officially the Place of the Constitution).
After the Spanish conquest of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlán, Hernan the Cortes began the construction of a Catholic church. This church was demolished about 1573, and a new cathedral was set up at the same place.
