Maurice Escande

Maurice Escande is a Acteur French born with Paris the November 14th 1892 and died in Paris the February 11th 1973.

It formed a generation of actors like Michel Bouquet or Claude Piéplu. It was general administrator of the Comédie-Française of 1960 with 1970. Named after a deep crisis of the institution, it could make it evolve/move by widening the repertory (Audiberti, Ionesco, Schéhadé…) and by calling upon the directors of the young generation (Antoine Bourseiller, Jean-Marie Serreau…).
