Massimo d\' Alema
Massimo D' Alema , born the April 20th 1949 with Rome, is a Politician Italy N.
Born in Rome, wire of a general himself important member of the Communist party, Massimo D' Alema joined the Italian Communist party (Partito comunista italiano, NCV) at the 19 years age. After having followed studies of philosophy, he becomes journalist. In 1975, Enrico Berlinguer entrusts the direction of Communist youths to him. Elected official appointed in 1987, it directs the daily newspaper of the NCV, Unità, of 1988 to 1990, before becoming president of the parliamentary group of the Democratic party of the left (Partito democratico beyond will sinistra, PDS) which succeeds the NCV.
In the past member of the Italian Communist party (NCV), it exerted the responsibilities for national secretary of the party which succeeded to him, the Democratic party of the Left become Left Democrats (DS). He is member of the office of the federation lately created of Olivier since the February 26th 2005.
Massimo D' Alema exerted the functions of President of the Italian Council of Ministers, in two successive governments:
- of the October 21st 1998 with the December 18th 1999, succeeding Romano Prodi,
- and of the December 22nd 1999 with the April 19th 2000, following one another itself and being then replaced by Giuliano Amato (2nd government).
He resigns of his station in 2000 following the defeat of his coalition to the regional elections.
After the legislative elections of 2006, and the short victory of the Union of the Left taken along by Romano Prodi, Massimo D' Alema, one moment had a presentiment of as President of the House of Commons or President of the Republic, is finally chosen by Romano Prodi as Vice-Président of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister.
According to the list stopped at November 11th, 2003, he is member of the scientific Committee of orientation of the association founded by Michel Rocard and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, On the left in Europe.
