Martin Vaughn-James

Martin Vaughn-James is a painter and author of cartoons born with Bristol, Great Britain, in 1943. He lives today with Brussels.

Illustrator more than author of cartoons to the traditional direction, it however published some works being able to correspond to the Anglicism " Romance graph ". In particular four titles dating from the time when it resided at Canada: Elephant (1970), The Projector (1971), The Park (1972) and The Cage (1975).

It is the latter, vertiginous account déconstruit under the influence of the Nouveau novel and Robbe-Grillet, labyrinth graphic without character, who made the most for his notoriety. the Cage knew several French editions, most recent being due to the New Impressions (2006), and even was the subject of a monograph, the construction of the cage by Thierry Groensteen (New Impressions, 2002).
