Martin Rees

Martin John Rees, Baron de Ludlow , FRS (June 23rd 1942 -) is a British scientist professor of Astronomie.

Career

Rees studies with the Shrewsbury School and the Trinity College before leaving to the the United States to finish its studies there. It returns in England to occupy a post of professor with the Université of Sussex then turns over to Cambridge where it obtains the station of Professor plumien of astronomy of 1973 to 1991 and takes also the head of the institute of astronomy of Cambridge. In 1975 he is professor of astronomy to the Gresham College. From 1992 to 2003 he is research professor for the Royal Society. Rees also taught with the Imperial College of London.

It publishes more than 500 articles and fact of important contributions on the origin of the cosmological diffuse Fond and the distribution and the formation of the clusters of Galaxie S. Its study of the distribution of the Quasar S is a strong argument against the theory of the Création continues. It is also one of the first to propose the black holes supermassifs like energy source of the quasars. Rees is also a popularizer respected in astronomy and science.

In 2005 he becomes Baron Rees of Ludlow in the county of the Shropshire. February 1st of the same year it takes the direction of the Royal Society.
