Marineland d\' Antibes

The Marineland d' Antibes is a marine Amusement park and a founded Delphinarium in 1970 with Antibes at the edge of the the Mediterranean on the road of the seaside of the the Alpes-Maritimes on the Riviera. The marine amusement park belongs to a complex also including/understanding:

  • Aqua-Splash, a watery Park
  • the Small Farm of Far West, an animalist park
  • Adventure Golf , triple courses of miniature golf thematized on works of Jules Verne

History

In 1970, the Count Roland of Poype, an industrial , old fighter pilot heroic of the Second world war and impassioned marine world, creates the Marineland Antibes on the Riviera with for mission of making known the life of the medium difficult to reach from the large marine animals and the Mer to many people.

  • Spectacles: Orc S, Dolphin S, Otary S, Seal S
  • Aquariums: Shark S, Poisson S tropical, hippocampi, marine tortoises…
  • Zoo: Sea lion, Pelican S, pink flamingos, Penguin S, small lines manta…

Welfare men of marine animals

The welfare men, a score in France, are Psychologue S of formation vat + 5 minimum (option animal Psychologie) and Biologie marinades and have excellent human qualities and a physical good condition. They are responsible for:
  • Monitoring of the maintenance of the basins
  • Food of the animals of the park (500 to 600 kg of Poisson S per days)
  • Monitoring of good the physical Health , mental of the animals and their Wellbeing.
  • Training and organizers of numbers of spectacles to the Orc S, Dolphin S, Otary S and Seal S.

Characteristics of the park

  • More than one million visitors per annum.
  • a principal giant basin:
    • Steps from 3600 to 4000 people.
    • 11 meters of depth.
    • Walls glazed in methacrylate: 4,60 m in height, 64 m length, 17 cm thickness
    • Build by the historical company of metallurgical construction Eiffel.
  • Four other basins a little less deep.
  • a lagoon of two basins for the Orc S.
  • a basin hospital for the Orc S.
  • a glazed tunnel of 30m in a giant Aquarium of Shark S of 2 million water L.
  • Of the Museum S of the Sea
  • 44 million liters of Sea water.
  • a Purification plant equivalent to that of the town of Nice (flow of 9000 m3/h).

Films made to the Marine Land of Antibes

  • 1988 : Great Blue of Luc Besson. Film inspired of the life of the apneists Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca with Jean-Marc Barr, Jean Reno, Rosanna Arquette and the Dolphin S high-speed motorboat of the Joséphine park.
