Marie de Hohenzollern
Marie Frederique Francoise Auguste Hedwige de Hohenzollern , Marie of Prussia was born on October 15th 1825 and died on May 17th 1889. It was queen of Bavaria and mother of the future Louis II of Bavaria and Otto of Bavaria.
It is the girl of the prince Guillaume of Prussia (1783-1821) and Marie Anna de Hesse-Homburg (1785 - 1846). It Marie with the crown prince to the Bavarian throne Maximilien II.
Marie de Hohenzollern was a very active woman, liking the vivifying walks, impassioned by nature, particularly by the mountain. She was an excellent mountaineer, it is her which will launch the fashion of the alpinism. In its races in mountain it took along her son, the future Louis II of Bavaria, the young prince then twelve years old climbs in its company Saüling of an altitude of 2047 meters. This passion of the mountain will never leave the prince.
It is buried at the sides of her husband.
