Marianne James

Marianne James , of his true name Marianne Gandolfi, born the February 18th 1962 with Montélimar, is Auteur-compositeur interprets and French Guitariste . It borrowed the name “James” from his godfather.

Girl of a Pastrycook, it was anorexic until the 5 years age.

At 11 years, it takes courses of guitar at Antoine Petrucciani, known as “Tony”, guitarist of famous jazz and father of the pianist Michel Petrucciani with whom it makes many sessions in trio. Marianne James is thus at the base a musician of Jazz. After a license in Musicologie with the Sorbonne in Paris it obtains, in 1980, a first price of song to the Conservatoire national of Paris.

Starting from 1989, Marianne James is made known thanks to Maria Ulrika Von Glott, the professional singer Teuton and foldingue, character of its spectacle Ultima Recital with Veronique Vola, Helene Halevi then ARIANE Cadier with the piano. This spectacle will know nearly 1.200 representations and a Molière better musical production in 1999 will enable him to gain. Exit of its first disc: the Tangerines .

In 2003, it doubles the character of the Grosse Lady in Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban .

In 2004, it takes part as a Juré, with the success of the emission the Nouvelle Star at the sides of Manu Katché, Dove Attia and André Manoukian. It will be also member of the jury, for the seasons 2005,2006 and 2007. It will not form of it any more part for the season 2008

In 2005, it assembles a musical production called the Whims of Marianne . It is also presented to the Casting of Harry Potter and the goblet of fire to interpret the role of the giantess Olympe Maxime, principal of French magic. It arrives in second position.

In 2006, left its first album: Marianne James , an album with misconception of the image which the media give of it.
