Marcel Peyrouton

Marcel Peyrouton , of his name complete Bernard Marcel Peyrouton, born the July 2nd 1887 and dead the November 6th 1983, is a politician French.

He occupied several posts of senior official in North Africa: general secretary of Algeria (1931-1933), resident general in Morocco (April 1933 - July 1933), Resident general of France in Tunisia of July 1933 at March 1936. Leon Blum replaces it by the Noguès general, but appoints it ambassador of France with Buenos-Surfaces. Again named resident general of Tunisia by Paul Reynaud in June 1940, it Exile E nationalist leaders of the Néo-Destour, of which Habib Bourguiba, in the south of Tunisia.

It is called by Vichy at the end of July 1940 with the general secretary of the ministry for the interior, and becomes Minister of Interior Department to replace Adrien Marquet, when this last is revoked government by the marshal Philippe Pétain in September 1940. It is for this reason that it signs (at the sides of Pétain, Pierre Laval, Raphaël Alibert, Charles Huntziger, Rene Belin, Paul Baudoin and François Darlan) and applies the discriminatory text October 3rd 1940 towards the Jewish . It makes party of the ministers who make pressure on Philippe Pétain, to return Pierre Laval of the government, on December 13rd, 1940. Pierre Laval obtains that the Germans oppose the maintenance of Peyrouton in the government of the admiral Darlan. Peyrouton becomes ambassador of France in Argentina, until April 1942, where the return of Pierre Laval to the capacity the constrained one to resign.

It is joined the admiral Darlan then, then with the general Giraud, who appoints it governor of the Algérie January 20th with the June 3rd 1943, date on which the gaullists within CFLN obtain its reference. Decree on December 22nd, 1943, Peyrouton will be discharged by the High court in December 1948.
