Mankind

Mankind is a space Online game massively multi-players left in December 1998.

It is about the first RTS online being held in a persistent universe. It is placed in the line of the traditional strategy games like Command & Conquer on the principle of operation, however many points differentiate it from the latter.

Each player can become that of which it wants: Pacifist/Commercial, member of warlike or pacifist guilds, independent player.

Strategy with its engagements for the conquest of solar systems, the aspect management with the construction of cities, mines and factories, as well as the diplomatic aspect, Mankind makes it possible whoever to be made a place.

Gameplay

Mankind is held as well on a terrestrial level, with planets, as space, this in a galaxy of approximately 60.000 solar systems, containing themselves to 7 planets each one.

The two plans are interdependent in term of resources, the construction of spaceships not being able to be done without raw materials extracted from landmines.

Certain resources are very rare in the galaxy, in fact most of the interactions between players take place in a restricted number of solar systems.

The scarcity of these resources like larium, the money or gold can generate wars between the various Empires, Fédérations or Corporations which compose the galaxy.

Sometimes, of the conflicts between two organizations can become large galactic conflicts by the play of alliances. What generates engagements with the four corners of the galaxy. Thousands of vessels as of the million hunters can be absorbed in a few hours to recover a stellar system considered to be strategic.

The beginning of the play

Each new player enters the galaxy with a single vessel of construction, the vibz, containing some colonists, as well as small sum in appropriations.

This vessel is parked in one of the many space stations belonging to the Inner Empire.
