Manius Acilius Glabrio (consul in -78)

Manius Acilius Glabrio is statesman and general Roman, wire of famous the Lawyer Publius Mucius Scævola.

In 70 av. J. - C., it is urban praetor. It chairs the lawsuit of Verres.

In 67 av. J. - C., it is elected Consul. With his/her colleague Lucius Calpurnius Piso, they write a law (the Lex Acilia Calpurnia ) against the illegal prospection with the elections.

The same year, it is named governor in Cilicie, to replace Lucius Licinius Lucullus, and now directs the war against Mithradate. He lays off the soldiers of Lucullus, which prevents it from continuing the war.

Then, it itself is replaced with the head of the armies by Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus according to the provisions of the Lex Manilia .

Him anything else is not known, except that it declared oneself in favor of the capital punishment for the conspiring of Catilina.
