Magic Sam
Samuel James Maghett known as Magic Sam (February 14th 1937 - February 1st 1969) was a guitarist and singer of Blues.
Biography
It is born with Grenada (the Mississippi). His/her mother Hetha Anna , who suffers from the Diabète and of the Pellagre dies whereas him and his/her brother James is still children. The father please make them work with the farm, but the evening, Sam tests himself with the " diddley bow".Sam and his brother end up leaving the family farm and unload in 1950 with Chicago in their aunt Lily. After the school, it is put seriously at the guitar.
It starts to record of the 45 turns for Cobra of 1957 to 1959, of which remarkable the " All Your Love" and " Easy Baby".
In 1963, it makes a tube with " Feelin' Good (We' Re Gonna Boogie) " , and an international career continues. After a triumphal round in the United States and in Europe, it signs in 1967 for Delmarks and records the albums West Side Soul with an excellent version of the " Sweet Chicago" Home; of Robert Johnson (1936) who is of aillor a resumption of " Kokomo Blues" of Scraper Blackwell (1928), credited sometimes in Kokomo Arnold, but the version of Scraper is well before his. And also Black Magic . It continues to play in public with the Harmoniciste Charlie Musselwhite.
Its career is abruptly stopped in 1969 by an heart attack.
