Synopsis
The prosecutor Adam Bonner (Spencer Tracy) sees himself allotting the business of an attempted murder of a woman (Judy Holliday) against her adulterous husband (Tom Ewell). Amanda, the woman of the prosecutor (Katherine Hepburn), lawyer of her state is a convinced feminist: she decides to defend the defendant. Each husband uses all the possible blows to gain the lawsuit and their battle in the court is reflected on their life of couple.
