Maarouf Saad

Maarouf Saad (1910 - 1975) is a Lebanese politician.

Born with Saïda, it took part in resistance against the British mandate on the Palestine in 1936. In 1957, it is elected appointed sunnite of its city, a station which it will preserve until its assassination the February 26th 1975, at the time of a demonstration of fishermen with Saïda. Its assassination is regarded as one of the precursory elements of the Lebanese civil war which burst two months later.

Founder of the Popular Nassérienne, prosyrian Organization and propalestinienne, which was chaired thereafter not its two sons, Moustapha Saad and Usama Saad, both deputies.
