M52
M52 (or NGC 7654 ) is a open Amas located in the Constellation of Cassiopée. He was discovered by Charles Messier in 1774, which includes it in its catalog on September 7th 1774.
The distance between M52 and the Solar system are not known with precision: the estimates vary between 3000 and 7000 light-years, mainly because of the attenuation which the light emitted by M52 undergoes while passing in the interstellar, very dense medium at this place of the Milky Way, and especially of which the width is difficult to evaluate. If one takes into account a 5000 light-years median value, taking into account the apparent Diamètre of 13 minutes of arc, the real diameter of the cluster is approximately 19 light-years.
The age of M52 is estimated at 35 million years.
