Plounéour-Trez ( Breton Plouneour-Traezh in ) is a common located on the Northern coast of the department of the Finistere, in the area Brittany, in France.

Presentation

Plounéour-Trez, which counts 1.173 Plounéour-Tréziens , belonged to the canton of Lesneven. Considered for its littoral loop, the common offer a great diversity of landscapes, alternating rock sand beaches ends and splits.

History

Plounéour-Trez comes from Breton “the ploe ” (parish), of saint Enéour and of Breton “the will trez ” (shore, strike). The primitive parish of Plounéour-Trez (Plounéour-of-Strikes) is founded, seems it, between Ve and VIIe centuries by Enéour saint. Following names are met: Plebs Enemori (Eneuuori) (in XII-XIIIe century), Ploeneour in littore (about 1330), Plouneour Ystrez (in 1422), Ploeneourys-Treaz (in 1486).

The parish of Lannilis belonged to the archidiaconé of concerning Kemenet-Ily évêché of Leon and was under the terms of Saint Enéour. Originally it included Brignogan (one of its old district), Kerlouan and the trève of the Lerret latter.
