The myth of Lucrèce Borgia

As from the 20th century, many biographies call in question the charges of immorality carried against Lucrèce Borgia (of aucuns lent to him a son born of its incestueuses loves with its brother César, some bastard, an activity of empoisonneuse, etc) and introduce the character like the one rather cruel time old victim for the women. The reputation of Lucrèce Borgia suffered from the intrigues of its close relations, but the historians agree today to regard it as innocent multiple crimes and misdeeds which were charged to him.

Lastly, it should not be confused with Lucrèce, the legendary Roman heroin, violated by the son of Tarquin Superb the and whose suicide would have caused the advent of the Roman République in 509 before J. - C.
