Lucius Malefoy

Lucius Malefoy is a character of the saga Harry Potter, written by J.K. Rowling.

Biography

The author makes some for the first mention in the tome2, in the chapter 3.
Lucius Malefoy (English Malfoy) is a wizard probably born in 1954. It has long fair hair, the pale dye, the pointed nose and gray and cold eyes. He studied with Poudlard in the house of the Serpentard. He is the husband of Narcissa and the father of Drago. He works with the Ministère of the Magic and is a Mangemort first hour.

Like any Mangemort, it is very scorning towards the Moldu S or the children wizards born Moldus parents, estimating that only the pure wizards would deserve to study the magic. Rich person and powerful, it mistakes the Weasley for their poverty and their interest for the world moldu.

He is savagely opposed to the admission with Poudlard of wizards and witches who are not " blood-pur" and it uses its relations (and its money) to make change the intake system. He is member of the board of directors of Poudlard to the end of Harry Potter and the room of the secrecies and always said that the nomination of Dumbledore as directing is the worst thing which ever arrived at this school. He is very influential and has many relations. Lucius Malefoy used its position in the magic community and made gifts for many different works, in order to acquire influence within current the Ministère of the Magic. Fudge appreciates much Lucius, impressed by the " pureté" of its blood and especially by the money large sums which it offered to all kinds of organizations. What allows him, amongst other things, to delay the examination of certain bills which he does not want to see passing. It must be close to Rogue, because it speaks about this one with Dolores Ombrage in very eulogistic matter.

It has in its manor a great quantity of objects of black magic, poisons and other hazardous substances and prohibited by the Ministère of the Magic. It dissimulates the whole in a secret room located under the parquet floor of the large living room.

Before the first return to school of Ginny in 1992, it slipped into the businesses of this one the diary of Tom Jedusor. It made pressure on the other members of the council, threatening them to launch curses on their families to suspend Dumbledore its functions when pupils were found petrified. It succeeds in making it suspend of its station during some time. But it was without counting on Harry which destroyed the newspaper, killed the Basilic and restores the truth on the Room of the Secrecies.

After having answered the call of Voldemort with Mangemorts on June 24th, 1994 and having renewed its old allegiance immediately, Lucius took part in the aggression against Harry in the cemetery of Little Hangleton.

In volume 5, it seems to be the leader of Mangemorts at the time of the Battle of the Department of the Mysteries. At the end of this one, it is arrested and imprisoned with Azkaban.

Malefoy had an elf of house called Dobby during several years, but Lucius released it without its knowledge, giving to him by inadvertency a sock of Harry.
