Luc Chatel

Biography

It is born in a haut-marnaise family, of a father admiral and a mother professor of dance. It begins studies of management to the Université Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and obtains there a control of sciences of management in 1987 then one OF marketing in 1988. It is invested then in the student trade unionism. Graduate, it integrates the international group of cosmetics L'Oreal. He initially works in the Marketing then with the human Resources and becomes DRH of an entity of the group, posts that he occupies until 2002.

Parallel to its professional path, it begins in policy within the Republican party then from Liberal Démocratie, of which it integrates the political office in 1998. In 1993, he becomes city council man of the Bayard-on-Marne (Haute-Marne), from where its family is originating, then city council man Chaumont in 1996. In 1998, he becomes first vice-president of the district council of Champagne-Ardenne, station which he will occupy until 2004.

He is elected appointed the June 16th 2002, for XIIe legislature (2002 - 2007), in the 1st district of Haute-Marne then re-elected in 2007, with the first turn with 53,88% of the voices. He belongs to the group UMP. During its first mandate of deputy he had been Member of the Commission of the economic affairs of the National Assembly. Specialist in the problems involved in the Consumption, it was often appointed rapporteur on the bills or the private bills relative to this field, in particular on the fallen through bill relating to the class actions .

In 2004, he becomes national secretary then national spokesperson of the UMP. Within this party, he is member of the movement the Reformers.

June 19th, 2007, it is named, in the 2 {{E}} government Fillon, Secretary of State near the Minister for the Economy, Finances and Employment, is responsible for Consumption and Tourism.

He is married and father of four children
