Lublin
Lublin is the ninth plus big city of Poland and is regarded as the most important town of Eastern Poland, even if Warsaw is geographically located in center-is country. Lublin is the chief town of the Voïvodie de Lublin.
History
Even if Lublin became officially a city only in 1317, it were already mentioned at the 6th century like a center of Commerce. In 1569, it is in Lublin that the Union polono-Lithuanian was signed. Thereafter the city experienced a fast development. At the time of the third division of Poland in 1795 Lublin was under the Austrian occupation but in 1817 Lublin passed to the hands of the Russia until in 1918 when Poland regained its independence. Destroyed by the German army in 1939, the city was rebuilt after the Second world war.
Education and economy
On the territory of the city six schools of university level are of which Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski ( Catholic Université of Lublin ) which is one of the most prestigious universities of Poland. The city has an infrastructure relatively less developed than of other big cities of Poland and is the only big city of Poland not to have a public airport. The regional authorities are however effective in their fight against the Chômage and the installation of a structure for creation of new companies.Archbishop's palace
