Work began in February 2007. 11 new stops will be created: Central Park (which will serve the South County Business Park where Microsoft is in particular installed), Glencairn, The Gallops, Leopardstown Valley, Ballyogan Wood, Leopardstown' S Racecourse, Carrickmines, Brennanstown, Laughanstown, Cherrywood and finally Bride' S Glen.
- In 2012, a new line will be built between the center town and the old station of Liffey Junction. Another line will make the junction between Red Line and Green Line (however, the layout was not decided yet).
- In 2013, a new line will be built between the center town and Lucan.
- In 2015, Green Line will be prolonged to the town of Bray, in the south of Dublin.
