Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel
Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ d' Havré, duchess of Tourzel was born the June 11th 1749 in Paris. She died the May 15th 1832, in Paris. Its body is buried in the church of Abondant.

Biography
Its family
She is one of the members of the Famille of Croÿ. His/her father, Louis Ferdinand Joseph de Croy of Havré (1713 -1761) is prince and hereditary marshal of the Holy roman Empire, Grand of Spain, marquis de Vailly, count de Fontenoy, hereditary lord of the manor of Mons. He dies in the battle of Willingshausen, on July 16th 1761. His/her mother names Marie-Louise Cunégonde of Montmorency-LuxembourgSister of Joseph de Croÿ , Knight of the Golden Fleece, colonel of the regiment of infantry of French Flanders, Brigadier, duke of Harbor and lord of Tourcoing of 1761 with 1789.
The April 8th 1764, it Marie with Louis François of Bouchet (1744 - 1786), marquis de Sourches (5th, 1778), marquis de Tourzel, fulfills the hereditary functions of large provost of France.
They have five children, of which Pauline de Tourzel.
Controlling Children of France
She lives before the French revolution in Paris and the castle of Abundant. In 1786, her husband is carried by his horse, during a hunting with Fontainebleau, and breaks the head, under the eyes of the king Louis XVI. He dies after having suffered 8 days. Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel remarie not and devotes herself from now on to the education of the children, initially them his, then those of the king.
Indeed, Yolande de Polastron, countess of Polignac, 1 Controlling Children of France having emigrated, Marie-Antoinette of Austria writes, in August 1789, as instructions for the marchioness of Tourzel, the controlling news, a portrait of Louis-Charles, in conformity with the truth than those of flattering which finally seldom côtoient it.

The escape in Varennes
Madam de Tourzel of October 1789 at August 10th, 1792, fact proof of a great courage to the service of the royal family, but her insistence to hold her place near the royal family prevents an officer from accompanying the king. She accompanies the royal family in her escape in Varennes with a passport, where she plays the part of the baroness of Korff.
On their return, Madam de Tourzel and other people related to the business of the escape in Varennes are kept prisoners and questioned. Controlling is not with the Prison of the Abbey, but kept in the apartments of the Dolphin.
Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel tries however with the Dolphin to be a king, in spite of difficult times it asks him to know to forgive even with an old servant who gives the money of the king to his worst enemies:
be to you, say to him I, quite severe for an old servant of the King, and who is deeply attached to him. He made a great fault, I am appropriate about it, but by a good reason and without to have reflected on the impropriety of his step.

The prison of the Turn of the Temple
August 10th, 1792, the King gains the National Assembly. Charles embraces Agathe de Rambaud the eyes full with tears. Concurrently to him, Mrs Elisabeth, the Princess of Lamballe, Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel and the king, accompanied by the ministers, of which Etienne of Jolly, and some noble remained faithful and among them Philippe Louis Marc Antoine de Noailles, goes escorted by a detachment of the National guard (1789). Agathe de Rambaud deals with the small Pauline de Tourzel, the girl of Controlling, with the princess of Tarente.
Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel is imprisoned with the prison of the Tour of the Temple in 1792. The second stage is allotted to the queen Marie-Antoinette of Austria and its daughter Marie Therese de France (1778-1851). They sleep in the old room of Barthelemy (archivist about Malta) who had been expelled of his residence by the agents of the Commune. On the same floor the Princesse of Lamballe sleeps in the anteroom on a bed of strap, Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel and the future Louis XVII divides the same room. There are toilets and a wardrobe.
In the night from August 19th to 20th 1792, the Princess of Lamballe and Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel are torn off arms of the queen of its children and find themselves with the Prison of the Force, one of the most terrible prisons of the Parisian revolutionists. The Commune of Paris (1792) thus affirms its will to choose other individuals whose good citizenship was not suspect . Their imprisonment the Prison of the Force corresponds to the period of the Massacres of September. Their friend, the Princess of Lamballe, is massacred.
Finally free?
Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel is locked up 4 months in the private hospital of the citizen Montprin and Compagnie, intended for the relief and the cure of the disabled person and patients of the two sexes, established in Paris, under the authorization of the administration of police force, street Notre Dame of the Fields n°1466, section of Mucius Scaevola, German Faubourg . During this time, the small Pauline de Tourzel is collected by Babette, the maidservant formerly charged to empty her pots.
After the Thermidor 9, Louise-Elisabeth de Croÿ de Tourzel and his/her daughter have escaped as by miracle with the scaffold. But they are assigned with residence in their ground of Abondant, beside Dreux. They are still supervised by the police force under the Empire.
Restoration
As of the first days of the French Restoration, the king Louis XVIII had attached to the person of dauphine, Pauline de Tourzel, become the duchess of Béarn. His/her mother is made duchess by Louis XVIII in 1816.
Pauline de Tourzel, the friend of childhood of the Dolphin, overlooks, in her memories, the name of the Dolphin in the enumeration of mournings which struck the duchess of Angouleme, her sister: Madam was alone; the King, the Queen, Mrs Elisabeth, all had disappeared…
His/her mother was shocked by the death of several family members and the disappearance of Louis XVII. She saw with Abondant, surrounded grandchildren and memories. She rather often sees several family members royal in festivals in parents of Madam Agathe de Rambaud, of which the general-count of the Rivers or Pippre with Montfort-l' Amaury. Are present the duchess of Angouleme, the duchess of Berry which finds a little with Montfort-l' Amaury the spirit and the cheerfulness of before the French revolution
