Louis Schweitzer

Louis Schweitzer is a French business man born the July 8th 1942.

Origin

Born in Geneva, in 1942, in a family of the Alsatian Protestant middle-class, he is the son of Pierre-Paul Schweitzer, director of the the IMF, great nephew of Albert Schweitzer and the leader Charles Münch, and cousin of Jean-Paul Sartre.

Career

At the exit of ENA, he becomes tax inspector and between direction of the Treasury.

In 1981, he becomes principal private secretary of Laurent Fabius, the Minister for the Budget of the Gouvernement Pierre Mauroy. It will then follow it to the Ministry for Industry, then in Matignon.

After the failure of the left in 1986, it enters, thanks to Georges Besse with Renault, as director of control of management. Finance manager, then managing director, it becomes chairman and managing director of the automobile group between 1992 and 2005. On this date, it leaves the direction of Renault, but becomes about it the chairman of the board (expiration date: 2009).
