Louis Martrou
Louis Martrou (born in 1866 and died in 1954) is a pioneer of the French Spéléologie.
Owner-wine grower with Sigean and Roquefort-of-Corbières the (Aude), it discovers and explores, inter alia, the Barrancs of the Greenhouse and Saint-Clement. He visits as of 1890 vertical cavities of his commune. He only goes down up to 100 meters of depth.
He meets Edouard-Alfred Martel which proposes to him to collaborate but refuses the offer and stops its explorations.
