Loriculus vernalis

The vernal coryllis , loricule of the Indies or loricule vernal ( Loriculus vernalis ) is a psittacidé endemic of the south of Asia.

History of the species

Surface of distribution

South-west of India, Bengal, is the Himalayas (is Nepal with the Assam, Myanmar, Thailand, Malayan peninsula, Kampuchea, south of Laos and Vietnam. Present also in the islands Andaman and the archipelago of the Mergui.

Subspecies

Species a long time considered as monotypic, currently divided into 2 subspecies.
  • Loriculus vernalis phileticus Deignan, 1956. South of Thailand and in the islands Mergui.
  • Loriculus vernalis vernalis (Sparrman, 1787). South and is of India in the islands Andaman, in Burma, in the north of Thailand and the Indochinese peninsula.
