The apostolic prefecture Cameroun ease of Garoua is created on January 9th 1947 by detachment of the apostolic vicariate of Foumban.

It is set up itself in apostolic vicariate on March 24th 1953.

Lastly, this last is set up in évêché on September 14th 1955, then in archbishop's palace on March 18th 1982.

  • March 25th 1947 March -24 1953: Yves Plumey (Yves-Joseph-Marie Plumey)

Then apostolic vicar is

  • March 24th 1953 September -14 1955: Yves Plumey (Yves-Joseph-Marie Plumey), promoted apostolic vicar.

Is bishop

  • September 14th 1955 March -18 1982: Yves Plumey (Yves-Joseph-Marie Plumey), promoted bishop.

Finally are archbishops

  • March 18th 1982 March -17 1984: Yves Plumey (Yves-Joseph-Marie Plumey), promoted archbishop.

  • March 17th 1984 August -31 1991: Christian Tumi (Christian-Wiyghan Tumi), becomes archbishop of Douala.
  • since January 23rd 1992: Antoine Ntalou
