List astronomical observatories
This is a list of the astronomical observatories sorted by names. One will find in this list the date of setting in operation (when that Ci is available, the geographical location, and it completion date of operation of the observatories which are not used any more. One understands here by “astronomical observatory”:
- All places on Earth where are Télescope S of any nature (for the observation of visible Rayonnement, Infrarouge, antennas radio, submillimeter etc)
- the detectors of Neutrino S and cosmic rays.
- the satellite astronomical, which are freed from the effects of the terrestrial atmosphere to observe the radiation Ultraviolet, the X-rays or the Gamma rays S.
A astronomical Observatoire generally includes/understands one or more buildings/telescopes built to allow the observation of astronomical objects. It will be noted that other disciplines, the such Vulcanologie and the Météorologie also use the name of observatory, but this list is confined at the astronomical observatories.
