Liberty Surfing

Liberty Surf was a Fournisseur of access to Internet French created in 1999, subsidiary of the group Kingfisher. It is one of the first free suppliers (only the minutes of use were paying by the means of a local number to compose) with Freesbee, World Online, Freesurf, Free, etc

Before 1999, the French Net surfers had, in addition to the telephone calls, to subscribe to a month's subscription with a FAI for a definite time volume (like Infonie or AOL). With the appearance of the free FAI, the number of Net surfers in France increased considerably. With the advent of the unlimited formulas (connection unlimited at a price defined per month) and especially of the high banc (ADSL, cable), this type of formula almost completely disappeared from the market.

Liberty Surf was repurchased by Tiscali France. Tiscali then yielded its French subsidiary company to the operator Alice (Telecom Italia).
