Liancourt

Liancourt is a common French, located in the department of the Oise and the area Picardy.

Its inhabitants is called the Liancourtois .

Geography

Liancourt is located at approximately 60 km in the north of Paris.

History

A Mound castrale perdure in the park of bottom. It does not remain about it any more that one worn monticule but it seems to attest a Roman presence in the area.

At the XVIIe century, the city was called Liancourt-the-beautiful-water and the fitting of its castle, its gardens, its fountains and its channels would have been used as model with the prestigious Versailles.

The city knew all the plagues and the torments of the history: devastations carried out by the Norman into 860 and 891, the Jacquerie of 1358 and that of 1429, the plague of 1348, that of 1625, the famines which followed, worsened by the rigorous winters - the men were constrained to peel the trees to eat the barks of them - canicular summers, or rains of cockchafers.

The city was the property of a Vendean family, the Rochefoucauld, of which most famous of them was the author of the maxims. Another, the Duke of Rochefoucauld, statufié on the place of the city, created in one of its farms, the Farm of the Mountain, a school of professional training for the orphans of the area. In 1776, at the time of the war of American independence, it was a pilot and completely innovating experiment which gave rise to the first technical school.

The church bears the name of Saint Martin. Its frontage offers a representation of patron saint, a metal plate carved where one sees it cutting his coat, its cape, in two using its sword.

The center was open in 2004.

Each cell is equipped with a shower, one counts 10 m ² for simple and 14 m ² for a double. Cells of 20 m ² adapted exist for the handicapped people.

The establishment has of a football field, a gymnasium, a library and a school center.

In the district of the minors, the guards are in sports gear.

This center made speak about him in a business of violences on prisoners, where the director was transferred.
