Li Shangyin
李商隱 Li Shangyin (812 - 858) is a Chinese poet of the Dynastie Tang originating in Hoaï-tcheou, in the Hunan. Wire of a well-read man celebrates who had been received doctor at the nineteen years age, it reached itself this high rank the second of the years Kaicheng (837). Its fame, like scholar, preceded that which it was acquired later like poet, and one of the dignitaries of the Empire gave him his daughter in marriage, on the only noise of literary successes which it had obtained.
Li Shangyin occupied of many public offices; he was successively governor of several important cities. He reached a advanced age, and died whereas the Tang dynasty touched with its ruin, and that with it was going to die out these long series of poets which works always enjoy in China a so great favor.
Li Shangyin left, in addition to its poetries, several very estimated funeral praises.
