Leon the Philosopher
Leon the philosopher or Leon the Mathematician is a scientist, philosopher and Byzantine monk born towards 790 and died after 869, perhaps with Constantinople. After years of studies and voyages, Leon arrives at Constantinople to become professor. He becomes famous thanks to the interest which the caliph Ma' Mun carries on these studies, this one inviting it even to Baghdad.
