Lena

The Lena (in Russian: Ле́на ) is a Fleuve of Siberia, Eastern of the three large rivers of direction south-north which drain this area.

Geography

Lena takes its source in the Baïkal mounts, close to the lake of the same name. It throws in the Arctic Ocean - more precisely in the Mer of Laptev - by a broad Delta 400 km. Its length is of 4  400 km and its basin cover approximately 2  490  000 km ². Its course separates the area from the plates of central Siberia and the more mountainous area of Eastern Siberia.

Whereas Vladimir Ilitch Oulianov was off-set in Siberia, at the edge of Léna, of 1897 with 1900, it took for Pseudonyme Lénine, i.e. “  the man of Lena  ”.
