Lemon Jello

Franglen and Deakin initially composed three EP with limited pulling, The Bath (1998), The Yellow (1999), and The Midnight (2000), which were gathered in 2000 within an album more widely distributed Lemonjelly.KY , which was a success as well in the field of the criticism as of on the commercial plan. Their second album (and autoproclamé first album studio ), Lost Horizons , marketed in 2002, and were also a success. This album which comprises the individual " Space Walk" and " Nice Weather For Ducks" with the Mercury Music Prize 2003 was nominated and with the Brit Awards 2004 in the " category; Best Dance Act".

Their last album, 64 - '95 in date of 2005, reveals a harder and complex sound that the precedents. The origin of its title comes owing to the fact that each track of the album contains a Sample drawn from the years ranging between 1964 and 1995, incorporated thanks to multitude of imaginative means. It contains a vocal performance William Shatner, with which they had already collaborated on a title of her album Has Been . This album, which is available as well on support CD as in Disque vinyl, and was supplemented by the exit of a DVD of the same name, comprising each piece of the album put in image by coloured animations 2D and 3D. Some of these visual are sufficiently led to have the appearance of a video Clips, whereas others are more repetitive, to see simple variations of a given visual topic. The audio part of the DVD is available as well in the standard stereo format as in its surround 5.1. The video illustrations were carried out by the studio of Airside design.

Live performances

Lemon Jello is known for their very imaginative performances. In 2003, Lemon Jello gave a number of important concerts in all the the United Kingdom. Instead of having a first part, Fred and Nick organized a Bingo, chaired by the Mort in which many members of the audience took part. In other representations, the first part was ensured by Don Partridge - a man orchestrates traditional - while jello Helpers - imps of Jello - distributed sugar refineries to the public. They also organized morning entitled a Jello Tots which they called Jello Tots - small child into cold - with caritative goal. Between two Set, the traditional ones of the English cartoons for children were projected on scene, and this performance was accompanied by inflatable structures, clowns and hundreds of balloons. The duet also gave representations, at the head of poster in particular to the Glastonbury Festival, V Festival, Reading Festival and The Big Chill.

A certain number of their pieces were used by BBC for basic Trailers and musics, in particular " Nice Weather for Ducks" , a title which contains an imitation of John Lagnstaff which will melt the festival Revels in the United States, " Ramblin' Man" and " The Shouty Track". Other televisual programs used their music, with the image of " The Staunton Lick" who was used for the final scene of the Sitcom Spaced . One also could hear them in publicity campaigns, most notable is the use of the piece In the Bath by Motorola in their old countryside " Hello Moto" , container of new ways recorded in overprinting of the original title of Lemon Jello. More recently, " The Curse off Ka' Zar" was used for the " Turner Classic Movies' 31 days off Oscar " like interlude diffused within an assembly (sometimes with an alternative music of Imogen Heap).

Airside

The duet is known for their distinctive visual style of their packaging, coming from their collaboration with the studio of Design Airside of Fred. The bright colors and the graphic elements, added to the bill of character Lemon Jello, is instantaneously recognizable like the " griffe" duet. Their three first EP which were distributed on discs vinyl of 33tours of 25 centimetres with their small pockets screen printed to the hand sell from now on at high prices on EBay. The small pockets of Software/Rock'n'roll , diffused in a nonofficial way, were in a hurry on discs vinyl 33 turns of 17cm blue pale and sold in small pockets in Denim. Their jacquettes also contained aromatized condoms. Another nonofficial diffusion of the title Rolled/Oats was in a hurry on Picture-disc and sold in a bag in Hessian.

Other projects

End 2005, Franglen produced Remix title " Man In has Garage" of Coldcut, as well as the original soundtracks of the purchase mode/to build expansion The Sims 2: University of the play The Sims 2 and of The Sims 2 Nightlife . It is currently impossible to say if a new album is in preparation or if the duet with decided to work on other projects, the more so as Franglen recently produced in 2006 the album studio of Badly Drawn Boy Born in the U.K. .
