Large Theft Car: Defect City Stories

Large Theft Car: Vice City Stories (or AWG VCS ) is Video game carried out by the studio Rockstar Games and developed by Rockstar Leeds in collaboration with Rockstar North, it belongs to the series Grand Theft Auto. The play was officially announced the May 10th 2006 during the E3 at the same time by Rockstar and Sony. AWG VCS was not to leave only on PSP, but of the financial reasons made that a bearing on PlayStation 2 is planned for on March 9th, 2007. Just like Large Theft Car: Liberty City Stories which was a derivative of Grand Theft Auto III, AWG VCS largely begins again to take again the contents of Grand Theft Auto: Defect City, but with a scenario and missions which will be clean for him.

The adventure proceeds in 1984 (either two years before Grand Theft Auto: Defect City) and that the main character is Victor Vance, a soldier of trade 28 years old returned at the beginning it play to have made a forgery. The first images of the play having been revealed show the possibility of swimming and of controlling a Hélicoptère, a Bateau or a Jet-ski.

This play is the eighth opus of the series and fact part of the series of the Stories episodes of which it is the second opus.

City

The city Is exactly the same one as Vice city has share some buildings different. Consequently, they are the same districts.

Island of right-hand side

  • Beach Ocean, the richest district of the city with its beach and its luxury trades.
  • Washington Beach, where the central HQ of the police force is located.
  • Vice Point, at north, and its great shopping mall, very large district.

Islands of the medium

  • Prawn Island : Abandoned small island delivered to the squatteurs with a movie studio, the single company on the island.

  • Leaf Links Island :Deprived small island on which a golf course is arranged.
  • Starfish IslandLe more luxurious residential district of the city where the manor of the local baron of drug Ricardo Diaz is located.

  • International Escobar Airport, the airport of the city narrowly supervised and placed beside a
  • Strong Baxter, the place or one begins the play as a soldier with a first cushy job, but thereafter, one is transfered base.

Gangs

As in the other AWG, Vice city is a city in 1984 abounding in many gangs. It is a a little special war of the gangs in this episode because it will extend to the fight from buildings business between gangs. Vic Vance will take part in it by recovering the gang of late Marty. It will create warehouses of: Racket (Bar), Usurer, Prostitution, Drug and of Smuggling, Burgling

Gang of Marty

Preferred vehicles: none.

Territories had at the beginning: Viceport, a business has Little Haiti

Description: The gang which Vic Vance will recover after Marty died. It is helped by Louise at the beginning then her Lance brother. It will become about it the gang more puiissant of the city.

Bikers

Preferred vehicles: Angel Biker (Motor bikes)

Territories had at the beginning: North of the city.

Description: A gang which Lance hates particularly, very coriace, which will not hesitate has to very often tackle the businesses of Vic if it came has to destroy theirs. Move that in the motor bike.

Cholos

Preferred vehicles: Cholo Sabers

Territories had at the beginning: Little Haiti and Havana.

Description: A gang that Vic will attack much the beginning of the play but which is quickly eliminated using the Cubans. Two years later, the Haitians will take their place.

Sharks

Preferred vehicles: Gang To arrange (4x4)

Territory had at the beginning: All the island on the right, except North.

Description: The gagng which will undoubtedly make the most shade has Victor Vance after it arrived on the second island on the right. They will not attack more Vic that Bikers but they is nevertheless more malignant…

Cubans

Preferred vehicles: Cuban Hermes

Territory had at the beginning: No, Cholos having reduced them almost has nothing.

Description: The only Gang whose Victor Vance will make confidence and it will help. It gives to the Cubans freedom by killing all Cholos. Nevertheless, two years later, it will be in war against the Haitians and Victor will not be to help them… It is the only gang has not to have business.

Gang of Diaz

Preferred vehicles: Unknown

Territory had: Starfish Island.

Description: A gang which one will not vera in the safe play at the time the missions with Diaz, they are implied (especially Diaz who is the baron of the drug of the city) in businesses of cocaine. They kill Victor Vance later two years.

Golfeurs

Preferred vehicles: Caddy

Territory had: Leaf Link' S Island

Description: It is not a gang but just a group of golfeurs who can defend themselves if one types to them a little too much on the nerves…

Multijoueur mode

Here the 10 Multijoueur modes which Grand Theft Auto includes/understands: Defect City Stories:

  • Vice City Survivor : The first player to reach the limit of victims, or that which will have made the most victims at the end of assigned time, gains the part.

  • Protection Racket : To carry it, the gang must destroy the vehicles of its adversary as soon as possible.

  • Taken For has Wrinkle : Each gang must steal the unfavourable vehicles and bring back them to its base, while protecting its own vehicles. The first which reaches the limit of flights carries it.

  • Tanks For The Memories : To gain, be the first to reach the Rhino tank, and try to survive as a long time as time indicated.

  • The Hit List : A player is appointed by chance like target, and the other players must try to kill it as quickly as possible. The last player in string is then declared victorious.

  • Street Rage and Quadrathlon : Vice City proposes from now on races on water as well as the secondary mode Quadrathlon , in which the player must change vehicle at exact moments to finish the race.

  • Large Theft Car : Deliver a selection of vehicles to various places of the city.

  • Might Off The Hunter : Reach the Hunter helicopter in first and mark points by killing the other players. The latter can gain Hunter only by destroying it.

  • Empire Takedown : To gain, pose the bomb and destroy the building of the other players.

  • V.I.P R.I.P : A team has a VIP while the others are assailing. To gain, escape the attackers or kill the VIP, according to your camp

Engineering problems

Having tried to push back the technical limits reached by Liberty City Stories into 2005 whole while developing the play in only one year, the players had the bad surprise to deal with new bugs, returning the play more buggé of the series:
  • Vehicles disappearing from the garages,
  • streaming (posting of the decoration to the wire of the displacement of the player), slower than in LCS,
  • of large jerks being able to occur during the part,
  • vehicles appearing with back under the bridge,
  • bugs of collisions (signposts falling whereas the cars run on the road, feet of the characters which cross the ground…)
  • vehicles which are inserted in the ground
  • the radio can stop
  • irregularly the conversations can be dumb
