Laplace (or the Place ) is a nonbuilt-in community of the American State of the Louisiana, located in the Paroisse of Saint-Jean-Baptist on bank is the Mississippi. It is a Banlieue of La Nouvelle-Orléans. According to the census of 2000, its population is of: 27684 inhabitants.

Laplace was founded at the 18th century. Its name comes from Basile Laplace, one of the first colonists.
