Langel
Langel was the chief town of the old Seigniory Langel , already mentioned in an act of 1191. The name comes from its passed form to the length of left bank of the Meuse. Langel was located in the Country of Herpen and is currently located on the territory of the commune of Oss.
In 1380 the Lord of Herpen builds with the territory of Langel to the locality Raven a new castle, called Ravenstein , and gives the borough to the foot of the right castle of city. Thus the Country of Herpen becomes Pays of Ravenstein and Langel yields the step to Ravenstein. The share of its territory in the south of Ravenstein became Overlangel and the old chief town Langel in north will become later Nederlangel , then ==> Neerlangel. For further information, to see Neerlangel.
