Lake Poso

The lake Poso (in Indonésien Danau Poso ) is a Lac in the province of central Sulawesi, in the island Indonesia of Célèbes, located at. It is the 3rd deepest lake of Indonesia.

The lake shelters the Anguille silver plated and yellow eel like two endemic fish species S, the Adrianichtys kruyti and the Xenopoecilus poptae .

On southern bank of the lake the town of Pendolo is and on northern bank, that of Tentena. Villages border all the circumference of the lake.

In Tentena, the lake runs out in the Poso river, which is thrown in the Mer of Moluques at the level of the town of Poso.

Close to the village of Bancea at the edge of the lake, a park of Orchidée S savages is. The forest surrounding the lake shelters the Anoa (dwarf buffalo) and the Babiroussa (literally, " pig-cerf" in Malayan).

Transport

One can go to the lake Poso:
  • Either since Rantepao in the country Toraja, by taking the Transsulawesienne road by the port of Palopo then the town of Wotu on the Gulf of Bone and, to gain Pendolo,
  • Or since Poso by Transulawesienne until Tentena. Poso is connected by plane to Palu, the capital of the province.
