Laghet
Laghet (it: Laghetto ) is a Hameau pertaining to the commune of the Trinity (sometimes called the Trinity-Victor in the honor of Victor-Emmanuel Ier), department of the the Alpes-Maritimes, in the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.
The gh is a C-W communication Italian and one could as well write Laguet .
In language Niçois E (Georges Castellana), one says Laguet and the Gentilé is double: read Aguetan, read Valounié .
The sanctuary Notre-Dame de Laghet
In 1652, in modest the Vault of the small valley of Laghet, between Nice and Monaco, the Virgin Mary answers the prayer of faithful by several Miracle S, followed soon of many others.
In answer, the Pilgrim S run many, the sanctuary is built and the Ex-voto start to cover the walls with them. They are now thousands, witnesses of all the received graces. The inhabitants of the area always trust Notre-Dame de Laghet to be judged some by the last Ex-voto preserved in the oratory. Sometimes, on a simple sheet where a chart of geography was reproduced for example, a candidate explains: “I had not worked too much during my school year and I took down nevertheless my examination: I will be able to register me with the Université of Nice”, a truth small miracle!
Overcome by the Austrians and having abdicated, the king Charles-Albert stopped in Notre-Dame de Laghet on the way of the exile.
The sanctuary is today a place of Pèlerinage, around the vault of the 17th century.
The reception of the sanctuary, spiritual animation and hotel trade for the pilgrims are ensured by the Bénédictines of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre, installed with the priory of Notre-Dame de Laghet.
