the Ladies of the coast is a Feuilleton televised French in 6 75 minutes episodes, created and carried out by Nina Companeez and diffused in 1979 on Antenne 2.

Synopsis

In 1913, on the coasts Normans, the unconcern of three middle-class families will be upset by the First World War.

Fanny Villatte, young girl romantic and exaltée, receives the visit of his/her two distant cousins Raoul and Marcel. Marcel is soft, romantic and idealistic while his/her brother is cold, cynical and charmer. Their mother, Clara, badly married to an indifferent man, engage the same day a servant. She hesitates between two country-women but one of them, Georgette, shows insolente by evoking the need for working for girls of their condition. The latter takes the route of maintained girl and becomes the mistress of Raoul for “nothing”. In front of its refusal to engage, it loses the reason and commits suicide.

Clara engages Blanche which Marie quickly with the coachman of a relative of the family Villatte, Louis and share food at his place. Frustrated lovingly, Clara pushes back as it can the attempts at seduction of its manager although he is not indifferent for him. At the time of a voyage to Paris, Fanny carries the object of its exaltation romantic and in love on the father with Raoul and Marcel who has great difficulty to push back it.

The war arrives. The husband of White dies in the combat. Fanny Marie with Raoul, not hoping for anything the Marcel shy person more. But Raoul shows himself of an excessive jealousy supplied with the traumatisms of the war. It is understood that he dies in the combat after being himself unnecessarily exposed with enemy fire. Fanny is traumatisée of what she believes being of her fault. White, the servant, engages as nurse with the face: she looks after there with Louis devotion, which falls in love with her, although being married in Marianne, a frivolous woman. Fanny leaves for Paris and carries out a noisy life to mislead its sadness. The finished war, Marianne contracts the Spanish influenza and dies. Louis marries Blanche and to the great displeasure brings back it at his place of its close relations of seeing a servant becoming the housewife. Fanny finds Marcel with whom it is appropriate that by respect for Raoul, he can nothing occur of good of their relation. Marcel from goes away for the foreigner.
