Kyōichi Katayama (片山恭一 Katayama Kyōichi), born the January 5th 1959, is a writer Japanese.
He was born in the prefecture from Ehime and graduate from the university from Kyûshû. Its first notable novel was Kehai ( Sign ). This book received the Bungakkai price of the beginners.
Its greater success is a cry of love in the center of the world ( Sekai No Chūshin of, Have wo Sakebu, 世界の中心で、 愛をさけぶ ), sold with nearly 3.500.000 specimens. The novel was adapted in Manga (drawn by Kazumi Kazui) then in Film. It is to date its only novel translated into French.
